In Memory of a great coach and greater person: Jim Cavanaugh
Jim "Coach Cav" Cavanaugh, lost his battle to an illness that he had been fighting for some time. He will be missed and always remembered.
Coach Cav impacted the lives of many generations of Rhode Island youths by sharing his love for sports as a coach and instructor throughout his life. In addition to instructing at RIBI, he coached Edgewood South Elmwood Little League, LaSalle Academy, Allies of the Amateur League, Cranston GALS Softball, and served as a New England Area Scout for the Atlanta Braves organization.
Coach Cav taught from his heart. He had a passion for helping kids and his everlasting enthusiasm for baseball and life was contagious to all that knew him. He always gave his best to the kids. He was not only a great coach and instructor but an individual of unbelievable character, as he touched the lives of everybody who he came in contact with. He has given us so many great memories over the years.
